Adrian Gorvin
Specialist Magneto Engineer
30 h.p Salmson S4 of 1930
Roadster Sport.
This magnificent example of a Roadster Sport is one of only two known to exist.
Using a double overhead cam configuration driven by a vertical bevel shaft the
engine, designed by Emile Petit, is quite extraordinary for it's time.
This car also has the rarer 4 speed transmission.

The following photographs show the magneto after it's rebuild in my workshop.. As Salmson were aero engine manufacturers it should come as no surprise that they decided to produce their own magneto. This is an H4.8. |
